Earn TAO as a developer

You write code and want to earn TAO without running mining hardware. Gittensor pays TAO for merged pull requests to approved open source projects, which is one of the simplest ways in. Prize subnets like conjectures pay for solving hard problems.

Start with these 2

SN74Beta

Gittensor

Earn TAO when your pull requests get merged into approved open source projects.

First stepFind a repo on their approved list and open one small, useful pull request.

Web app and APINeeds TAO or crypto

GPU renting runs on testnet with no production site yet, and you fund your balance with TAO or SN74 alpha only.

SN66Live

conjectures

Rewards for checked proofs of open math conjectures.

First stepBrowse the conjectures written as Lean statements.

Web appNeeds TAO or crypto

Fees go by hand-confirmed treasury transfer for now; card and USDC payment are planned.

Targon

Rent NVIDIA GPUs by the hour to train or run AI models.

  • Rent GPU or CPU virtual machines, up to eight GPUs each
  • Run code and AI agents in isolated sandboxes
  • Use sealed, confidential machines for sensitive workloads
Web app and APIPricing not listed

Prices are hourly and shown live, but the site doesn't say which payment methods it takes.

SN9Live

iota

Train your own AI models across many scattered machines, either yourself with an SDK or managed.

  • Run your own model training jobs through the IOTA SDK
  • Hand a defined training job to the team to run for you
APIPricing not listed

No pricing or sign-up is described; the managed option starts by emailing the team.

SN19Live

blockmachine

Connects your app to Ethereum, Base, Bittensor and other blockchains, billing only successful requests.

  • Use free public blockchain endpoints with no sign-up
  • Get an API key for 11 blockchains, including Ethereum and Bittensor
  • Check public uptime and speed dashboards
APIFree to start

Paid plans run $9 to $999 a month and the pricing page lists USDC as the payment method.

SN28Live

SayGM

One API key for Claude, GPT and Gemini, often cheaper than list price, with private routing.

  • Call Claude, GPT, Gemini and open models through one API
  • Plug it into Cursor, Cline or Claude Code as your model provider
  • Use the SayGM Desktop agent to work on your local files
Web app and APIPricing not listed

The headline says up to 70% cheaper, but its own table shows about 25% average savings, and the payment method isn't stated.

Quantum Compute

Run programs on real quantum computers through partner Open Quantum, with free credits every 90 days.

  • Run jobs on IonQ, Rigetti, IQM and AQT quantum computers
  • Get $50 of free quantum compute every 90 days
  • Use Qiskit or PennyLane through one API
APIFree to start

Access runs through partner Open Quantum; we didn't check its own sign-up page.

Rent cloud GPUs by the hour, from RTX workstation cards to H100s and B200s.

  • Rent an H100 GPU from about $1.30 an hour
  • Launch GPU machines from a web dashboard, command line or Python
  • Save money with cheaper spot GPUs that can be reclaimed

Questions

Do I need TAO to use these?

Gittensor and conjectures need TAO or another crypto token.

What doesn't Bittensor cover yet?

Mining most subnets takes real hardware and setup, so read each subnet's docs before spending on it.

What is a Bittensor subnet?

Bittensor is a network of 128 subnets. Each one is a competition where miners do a job, like serving AI models or renting out GPUs, and validators score the work. Some subnets also sell what they produce as a normal product. This guide only recommends those.
